Sara Rue Jlog – Week 3

Hello Sara Rue fans! Another Jlog showed on the Jenny Craig site. So, even though I’ve lost my desktop AND my laptop both in the same week, I’ve been able to use my IT knowledge to fix an old computer and can still update! Though it’s considerably more time consuming, but I won’t go into how slow this computer is.

Here’s a clip from the new Jlog post (these updates seem to have some structure now):

I guess I always want life to be perfect and when life doesn’t cooperate and things go off the rails for a bit I often turn to food for a little bit of comfort. But I didn’t this time. That’s a big win for me. Go me!

It’s little things like this that make me smile a little smile for Sara. Personal victories like that aren’t easy to come by! Please visit Sara’s Jlog at the Jenny Craig site to read the entire entry.

I’d planned to put a new video clip here, but with my computers going poof I need to transfer my data to this one yet. Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to do this between the general sluggishness of the current comp, and the fact that I had to solder my hdd directly to the power wires just to keep it going. Just doesn’t make me want to use it much, really! Anyway, I’ll see what I can do, and in the meantime, don’t forget to check out the clips on the site here or if you prefer, check out the YouTube site.

Sara Rue Jlog – Week 2

Perusing the interwebs today, I made a pit stop at the Jenny Craig site. Hey look! Sara has posted the second week’s Jenny Craig Blog, or Jlog. Here’s a brief excerpt:

It’s been kind of interesting…a good kind of interesting? I think so. My first week on the program was a little crazy – filming commercials with Val (we’re totally bffs now), press conferences, interviews — basically, announcing to the whole world that I’m on a diet. That’s not typical for me. In fact, I usually go the other way and tell absolutely nobody that I’m dieting and just cower in a dark corner alone with a carrot stick.

I know, of course, that this is all very serious business. Dealing with ones own health should never be taken lightly. But intentional or not, I thought that last line was humorous.

Anyway, this is just a quick update to acknowledge that a new Jlog has been posted. You can view it in it’s entirety here.

I’ll have some clips ready for posting soon hopefully. More realistically, after Christmas. Maybe before then. Who knows? :-)

Sara Rue Jvlog 02

Ok. Checking the Jenny Craig site out of boredom has yielded a nice surprise! Sara has another video log up! I’m calling the Jvlogs, though not as snazzy as Jlog for the written ones. Oh well.

The point here is, this is Sara, stripped down and, quite frankly, owning it. Other posts have mentioned her putting her weight issues out there, but nothing really shows it like I think this video does. Here’s a link to the original site with the Jvlog, so please visit there. If for some reason that video doesn’t work, you can try watching it below this post.

I’m not a girl, nor am I concerned with my weight (though I definitely should be), but I applaud Sara for going for this and putting it out there for everyone to follow. Pardon my french, but that takes balls. Chick balls, in this case (does that mean it takes ovaries?).

Anyway, again, check out the video at the Jenny Craig site, or if it doesn’t work you can watch it here. Look below the video afterward for a fun bonus!

Sara states in the video, “In fact, one of my very first lines on tv was something about how my character didn’t wanna go to school because all the kids were making fun of her weight.” In case you want to watch what she’s referring to, please watch below! :-)

Sara Rue Jlog – Week 1

Hey!

I checked the Jenny Craig site to see if there actually will be blogs posted, and it seems that there are! Here’s an excerpt from the Sara’s week 1 blog (FYI, Jlog = Jenny Craig blog. Why? Because I can. That’s why.):

Anyway, I’ve made a pact with myself, with Jenny Craig, and now with all of you to share my ENTIRE Jenny experience on here. I really hope I can inspire some people with this journey because that would really be the icing on the cake! Uh-oh, cake. What was that – four seconds before I mentioned food?

It’s good to see that Sara has a sense of humor when it comes to her issues with food. I think that’s an important part of any change. You have to be able to laugh about past mistakes so they don’t bother you too much.

Anyway, that’s all this post is about. I’ll post updates here as I see them show up on the Jenny Craig site, in case anyone wants to follow along with Sara’s progress. Volumetricize? Nice. Making nouns into snazzy verbs for the win!

Sara Rue does Jenny Craig (and Eastwick)

Isn’t that the greatest blog title ever? *Insert super huge winking emoticon here*

It’s true. Sara is the newest spokesperson for Jenny Craig.A brief clip from the press release:

“Losing this weight goes beyond just what it will mean physically. It’s about establishing emotional stability in my life. My weight has been on a rollercoaster since I was a young girl, but I’m committed to gaining control of this aspect of my life,” said Rue. “My hope is that my story may inspire other women who are facing similar battles to seek help and take control. Through a newfound commitment, my family’s support and the one-on-one personal consultant from Jenny Craig, I’m confident that I will be able to get off this rollercoaster once and for all,” she added.

Sara tweeted the following on Wednesday morning – “Big day (yikes) I hope all my Twitter peeps will be supportive… So … Here’s the news. I’m the new Jenny Craig spokesperson. Omg! :0″

In my journey of trying to gather what information I could for this site when I first set it up, I came upon a bunch of posts, mostly older, regarding what people thought about her weight loss between 2005-2008 or so. Some people preferred her before she lost the weight, some preferred after. I would say that I prefer whichever makes her happy, and right now she’s doing what makes her happy. Like her looking however you want, but please support her in her decision to take this on. It’s what she wants!

Here’s a pic of her looking stunning as usual at the press conference (and yes, apparently it was cold. Haha):

Also, you can go to her section of jennycraig.com here and watch a quick video introducing her, but I’ve also put it here in case for some reason you can’t watch it there.

Now for the Eastwick news. Not good news, particularly, but news nonetheless. It seems that ABC has decided to pull the final 2 airing episodes from the schedule and move Ugly Betty (a show I’ve never even watched) into it’s time slot. We may still be able to see these final episodes during the summer if they choose to run them, but who knows? The show is starting to get truly interesting, and I think it’s unfortunate that so much time was spent building up to the episodes where the girls start to admit and even embrace their powers, but I’m not a professional critic, so I won’t pretend to be so here.

Also, I received an email from someone with another plan to save the show, though it seems ABC certainly won’t bring it back if they’re pulling the last 2 recorded eps. Here are the contents of the email, in case anyone out there wants to give it some thought:

If you want to see more of Sara on TV, help us try to save Eastwick. I've
compiled a list of the top advertisers for the first 8 episodes of Eastwick.
Please write to them and thank them for sponsoring the show! Maybe they can
convince ABC to renew Eastwick!
